The Playstation2 back in the day pumped games as much as babies are born everyday and while not all games were great some were. Shadow of the Colossus was a well known game which I never played, it basically put you against big bosses each with a different weakness, you’d climb the bosses and figure it out.

Artist James Gilleard was commissioned to create a series of 18 illustrations that pay tribute to the game and be presented at OHNO!DOOM a funkly-named art and culture gallery in Chicago. These illustrations as you can see are minimalist yet pack detail and an artist style that makes me love these even more.

Each of these illustrations highlights mainly the uniquely designed bosses but with a different perpective coated with Gilleard’s art style. For more of Gilleard art, check out his website.
