Recently, the Arab Museum of Modern Art in Qatar held a amazing opening for an art exhibition titled “Saraab” featuring the works of talented artist Cai Guo-Qiang. The opening featured daylight fireworks, which was an new to me till I actually saw it and it is a work of art.
The artists used gun powder to create these amazing fireworks that project color and are very bright even when the sun is as bright as it could be. Guo-Qiang is a talented Chinese mixed media artist, “Saraab” is the Arabic word for “Mirage” and this exhibition through the eyes of Guo-Qiang reimagines historical relations between China and the Gulf region in different forms of media.
You can watch the opening video below and some other in depth behind the scenes here.
