Usually the stop motion videos I see are made with clay figures or even action figures but this ad for Chipotle is in a class of its own. I just love the whole look and feel, and the fact that its super cute.
Another factor that really caught my eye is the creative use of extreme perspectives as well as the unique story telling ability without the use of a dialogue.
The ad was made by film-maker Johnny Kelly, who depicts the life of a farmer as he slowly turns his family farm into an industrial animal factory before seeing the errors of his ways and opting for a more sustainable future. Both the film and the soundtrack were commissioned by Chipotle to emphasize the importance of developing a sustainable food system.
The soundtrack fits the video perfectly and the lyrics really convey a deep meaning behind the message that they are trying to put across. You can download the song on itunes and the proceeds would go to the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation.
