There are countless sports centers around the world so creating one with completely unique facade is no easy task.
But thats what Hamburg-based practice, GMP Architekten managed to achieve with the ‘Universiade Sports Center‘ located in Shenzen, China.
According to the design team, the structure consists of “three crystalline buildings are nestled within an undulating landscape interconnected with pathways bordered with lakes. … the complex contains a stadium, multifunctional hall and swimming pool.”
This is definitely one gorgeous work of art and I have to hand it to the Chinese, they’ve really been stepping it up recently when it comes to investing in architecture. Many of our articles here at Chuknum concerning architecture have been about structures based in China so we look forward to seeing more of what they create.
