Due to increasing food prices, dwindling supplies and the driest year in decades, the Horn of Africa is currently experiencing a food crisis which affects 11 million people.
According to CNN “More than 29,000 children have died over the past three months in what is the most acute food security emergency on Earth. It’s worsening by the minute and outstripping available supplies. Thousands never make it to the camps, and those that do might have to wait outside the confines where 50,000 others are waiting.”
I won’t bombard you with images of starving children because the facts alone are heart wrenching.
Thankfully, though, it’s not impossible to help these people and the United Nations Food Programme is taking donations to feed them.
