I love monopoly, it was always one of my favorite games growing up. But there was always two problems with the game. For one carrying around a board game isn’t practical, and second, the games always took way to long to end and we don’t have that kind of time anymore.

So when a friend of mine told me about Monopoly Deal, I was really interested but I had my doubts, since it would be practically impossible to embody the board game into a card game.

Fortunately, my doubts where put to rest when I actually started playing the game. The rules are simple but mastering the game takes skill and thats the basis for an excellent game in my opinion.

The game doesn’t take long to complete (about 15 to 30 mins), and you can play with up to 5 players with one deck of cards and up to 10 if you get another deck.

The way it works is in order to win, you have to be the first to collect three full different colored property sets. This isn’t as easy as it sounds as the opponent is constantly trying to steal those properties from you, and there are certain action cards that can really throw you off, such as the “Deal Breaker” card that allows you to steal a full property set, or the “Just Say No” card that allows you to refuse any action against you.

I wont explain all of the rules here since the manual is more than sufficient for the job. But what I will say is that this game is one of the best card games I have ever played.

The game costs $8.62 (2.361 KD) and can be bought on amazon here, or you can buy it locally from Baroue.

The Good:
