The latest edition from Chillingo (the people who brought you Angry birds and Cut the Rope) is a gem of a game called “Storm in a Teacup”. Everything about this game is adorable, from the music and backdrops, to the graphics and interface, even the title is adorable.

The game is a physics based side scroller with a twist, the best way to describe it is that if feels like the whole game takes place in a world with an altered gravitational pull. What this means is that the character doesn’t exactly fly, he just jumps a lot higher then usual and floats to the bottom. It does take some time to get used to the game mechanics and there is a learning curve but once you get the hang of it the game gets really interesting.

Instead of just being a normal 2D backdrop that you have to speed across, the developers created levels that are interactive and require you to perform a series of steps to reach your goal such as finding a key in a hidden part of the stage or controlling a cannon like structure to shoot down targets. It even features boss battles which are challenging but still fun. All in all the game is what you would expect from Chillingo and its clear that a lot of love and effort went into developing it.
